Helter Skelter

Absolutely power corrupts absolutely, yes.

It’s a hurricane – a roller coaster of milieu control signals. No consistent demography to speak of – just bare bones psychological sociology at its finest. The need and search for moral explanations into how the world works, for simple rhyme and reason into an increasingly complex and crumbling reality.

We can laugh bitterly from the outside, but denial is relative. Cult is a pejorative term –  but we all have our relative truths.

If I was in a hippie commune turned accidental cult, I think I’d enjoy the gardening side of things… except that everything I touch dies. Who am I kidding,  I’d be a terrible accidental cult member… now cult leader, that’s another story.

Here are 3 people I think would make fantastic cult leaders:

  1. Woody Allen
  2. Rihanna
  3. Neil Gaiman

Just take a second and really imagine Woody Allen’s cult.
Really. Let. it. Sink. In.

My 3 great cult documentaries:

The Source Family (2013)

Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple (2006)

Manson (1973)

Ahhhh – but there are just so many.

3 fictional cult movies:

Martha Marcy May Marlene

Rosemary’s Baby

Ahhhh – but there are just so many.

Last House On The Left is not about cult, but I love a movie where psychopaths travel in packs. I guess they were more of a gang than a cult. It’s based on a Swedish revenge film called The Virgin Spring… both movies bring into question perceptions of morals and justice… kinda almost makes you crave some stability and definite enforced beliefs…woooah, gotcha!

Don’t drink the Kool Aid.
